A Heart Most Certain By: Melissa Jagears

Back of the Book

Lydia King knows what it's like to be in need, so when she joins the Teaville Moral Society, she genuinely hopes to help the town's poor. But with her father's debts increasing by the day and her mother growing sicker by the week, she wonders how long it will be until she ends up in the poor house herself. Her best chance at a financially secure future is to impress the politician courting her, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the moral society's president is her suitor's mother. Her first task as a moral society member--to obtain a donation from Nicholas Lowe, the wealthiest man in town--should be easy . . . except he flat-out refuses.

Despite appearances, Nicholas wants to help others but prefers to do it his own way, keeping his charity private. When Lydia proves persistent, they agree to a bargain, though Nicholas has a few surprises up his sleeve. Neither foresee the harrowing complications that will arise from working together. When town secrets are brought to light, this unlikely pair must decide where their beliefs--and hearts--truly align.

My Thoughts

A Heart Most Certain is not your typical historical romance.  While romance is in the air, Jagears addresses one of the largest issues in history; can you every really change your level in society?
Well written, well researched and entertaining, this novel is excellent and worth your time.   Nicholas doesn't care about society or what those in high society think of him.  His concerns are focused on helping those who can't outrun past sins.  While Lydia wants to help those in need, she struggles to stay inline with what society feels is appropriate for her to do.

Without Warming By: Lynette Eason

Back of the Book

Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he's not convinced that a bodyguard--and a female one at that--is necessary. A new attack and his niece's urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who's behind the intimidation and threats--before a would-be killer strikes again.

Witty dialogue and a simmering attraction will have readers flying through this tension-laced thriller. Eason exercises complete control of her readers' emotions as they race through the pages to discover the truth.

My Thoughts

Eason has done it again!  Without Warning is suspensefulintriguing, and full of passion.  The writing was incredible, with so much personality it grabs you from the start.  Katie is a strong character but with a hint of apprehension that makes her likable.  Haunted by her past she struggles to find her place.  Daniel is passionate about his life and is working hard to balance his job, and custody of his niece after leaving a military career he loved.   Without Warning is the second novel in a series that has quickly climbed my favorites list.  You could read this book as a stand alone and enjoy it, but the series is so good you really don't want to miss it.

Just a Kiss in the Moonlight By Cindy Roland Anderson

Back of the Book

Taylin Nichols has the perfect job as a nurse in the newborn unit in her hometown of Mitchel Creek, Georgia, but as for the perfect boyfriend—not so much. She knows she needs to dump the guy, but figures it will happen naturally if she’s accepted for the work abroad program. On a day when she should’ve stayed home, she runs into Luke McKay—literally. He’s new at the hospital and already has a reputation as an unfriendly, brooding male. Even though he’s hotter than a Georgia summer, he’s not Taylin’s type—at least that’s what she tells herself, but after spending time together, she can’t deny her feelings anymore. The only problem is Luke has baggage from a lousy marriage and isn’t ready for a relationship. He desperately tries to keep Taylin in the “friend zone”, but it doesn’t take long to realize that will never work. Just when he and Taylin decide love is worth the risk, Luke’s past presents an unexpected challenge, leaving both of them to wonder if their love will be enough.

My Thoughts

What a fabulous book, I was just going to read the first chapter but once I started reading I couldn't stop! The story line and characters just grab you right from the start.   Tylin is such a relatable character I think anyone could find an aspect of their personality in her.  Luke is kind hearted, easy going, and grasping for the simpler life we all crave.  Their love story is sweet, understandable and perfect.  While nothing is ever smooth Anderson has a way of writing that you truly feel the emotion of the story.

Just a Kiss in the Moonlight is a must read!!

Deadly Encounter (FBI Task Force Book 1) By: DiAnn Mills

Back of the Book

Airport Ranger volunteer Stacy Broussard expected a peaceful Saturday morning ride around the perimeter of Houston’s airport. What she encounters instead is a brutal homicide and a baffling mystery. Next to the body is an injured dog, the dead man’s motorcycle, and a drone armed with a laser capable of taking down a 747.

Though FBI Special Agent Alex LeBlanc sees a clear-cut case of terrorism, his past has taught him to be suspicious of everyone, even witnesses. Even bleeding-heart veterinarians like Stacy. But when her gruesome discovery is only the first in a string of incidences that throw her life into a tailspin, Alex begins to wonder if Stacy was targeted. As a health emergency endangers Stacy’s community, and the task force pulls in leads from all directions, Alex and Stacy must work together to prevent another deadly encounter.

My Thoughts

So great!  Deadly Encounter is a perfect example of DiAnn Mills talent and ability to weave a suspense thriller in directions you never see coming.  Stacy and Alex are both wonderful characters, with the perfect personality blends that you never question why they get along.  The story line was perfect, the crime starts so simple and yet as they dig deeper it seems to widen and expand in ways that are surprising.  Nothing in this book seemed rushed, each new detail is developed, and the end was perfect. This is truly a must read!
